July 21, 2007 - Posted by Alice SchneblyNeapolitan IngaWell, I finally decided on a new project and it is coming along deliciously! I love everything about this hat so far. Once again, I have to say the Inga Hat is a great pattern and the fair isle design it uses is just my style. Not that I’m not a fan of more traditional patterns too, I just love the contemporary feel of the Inga—especially when combined with some fun color combos! For Inga #2 I’m using Knit Picks Merino Style in Cinnamon and Petal, combined with some Vanilla I had leftover from the first version. Just like pink and green it’s kinda a trendy combination, but I love it all the same! I had originally thought this would make a nice gift, though after working on it and seeing how it’s progressing I don’t know how I could ever give it up. This time I’m taking care to fix my fair isle problems. I am working so hard to try to keep my tension even and my floats loose and so far it does look better than before. Also, I’m paying special attention to my yarn dominance. With the first Inga I was cluelessly switching my dominant color, which made some of the pattern less defined than I would have liked. So far this time the pink design seems perfectly set off the brown background. With each row I am more excited to see how it is coming together, and I can’t wait to have it finished ;) |
