Smitty the International Superstar

It feels like ages since I last posted, well actually it has been ages! I haven’t been able to find the time to knit for weeks now. It’s pretty sad, but I have something else going on that’s been keeping me super busy… Si and I bought a house! We’re moving from Boston to Quincy, and I think that it will be a nice change for us. I’m going to even have my own sewing/knitting/craft room! For the last two weeks we’ve been stripping wallpaper, cleaning off the walls, priming, painting, meeting with all sorts of people so we can get the place ready to move into by the end of the month. I still have a ton of packing to do, so I may continue to be pretty quiet on here until after the end of the month. I am so excited to get back to knitting though! I’ve have a ton of different projects lined up and my Lady Eleanor is ALMOST finished. I just need to add the fringe. Hopefully I’ll find the time to do that this weekend between packing my never ending pile of junk! BTW if you’re looking for a single bedroom apartment in Boston, I know one coming up on the market. :)

I’ve been thinking about starting a group on Ravelry for people who want to talk about home design, DIY home projects, as well as ask about questions or problems you encounter while fixing up your house. Would any of you be interested in joining a group like this? It wouldn’t be limited to first time home buyers or to people who are particularly handy, just anyone who is interested in fixing up their place. If you’d like to be invited when I start the group, you can leave a comment with your Ravelry name on this post!

Other than getting a house, I’ve had something else exciting happen too! Back in March I was contacted by Woodmansterne, a card company from the UK, about using one of my photos from this site on a card! Now my Spherey photo with the three apples is on a a “Thank You Teacher” greeting card. Pretty crazy huh! The cards are printed by cardMIX, Woodmansterne’s sister company, although I haven’t seen the cards up for sale online yet. Smitty’s totally digging the cards too and he feels like an international superstar!
