Today is the final day of the Ravelympics and I managed to complete up a couple more old WIPs. I didn't quite finish all my UFOs, but I made a decent sized dent. A few of the ones I didn't get to are destined to be frogged which I'm not too sad about. There's a reason they sat around for so long, so I guess it wasn't meant to be!
I actually started this sweater over a year ago for our new dog Jackpot. Well, he's grown so much since then it doesn't even fit over his head! Now it's become a sweater for Rufus. It's probably for the best since Jackpot is so high energy he won't sit still long enough for us to put a sweater on him anyway. Maybe once he get's over his puppy tendencies I'll try knitting him a sweater again.
The original pattern calls for this sweater to be knit in a stripe sequence. Instead, I used self-striping Noro Kureyon. I really like how it looks nice and rustic for a boy dog sweater. The only other modification I made on this sweater was to knit as much of the body as I could in the round. It really helped cut down on the finishing time! Overall this is a nice classic dog sweater pattern. I've made it twice now (once strictly following the pattern when I first started knitting) and both times I've loved how it turned out. It fits Rufus, my little chihuahua, great except the sleeves are a bit baggy on his tiny little legs!
This next week Grace and I will be posting our last few Ravelympics projects and starting in on our Malabrigo March knitting! I'm pretty excited for the projects I've got planned, and of course to work with my favorite Malabrigo yarns. If you're not in on the fun already, you should definitely check out the Malabrigo Junkies group on Ravelry. There are lots of knit-a-longs and contests planned and it's sure to be tons of fun!

Rufus is quite the model! Looks charming in the new coat!
OMG! So cute. I'm normally not a big fan of dog sweaters, but every time you post a pic of this little guy in a new sweater, I am completely won over.
He's too cute in his new coat :) Love the last picture!
How ADORABLE! My dogs love to wear coats and it looks like Rufus enjoys wearing the sweater. I love the last photo.
How ADORABLE!!!
Aww, adorable!! Rufus looks very happy.
What a cutie! Love the sweater! Rufus must be all warm and happy now!
Cute! Nice to see a sweater on a dog that isn't too frilly but still has a nice look.
