November 19, 2007 - Posted by Grace SchneblyThe Holiday Rush![]() I’ve been working away the past few days, although it doesn’t feel like I have much to show for it. Last week I picked up the Forbes Forest scarf from Scarf Style that I’m making for Alice’s husband, Kenny. I hadn’t worked on it since early October and I figured I better get back to work on it if I was ever going to going to finished in time for Christmas! Even though I’ve got the pattern down and am working the cables without a cable needle, it is still just inching along. However it is a good project to turn to when I feel like doing some relaxing knitting in front of the TV. It now measures 34” so I am maybe half way done with it.
![]() After I finish these four projects, I think I’ll be just about done with my handmade holiday gifts. I’ve got a few more things I’d love to make, but I’m also itching to make something for myself. I was getting ready to go out the other night and realized I have absolutely no handknit hats or mittens for myself! I’m in dire need of them especially with how cold it is getting in Boston. So many knits and so little time… |

Cute! I especially love the scarf. I'm sure your brother-in-law will, too.
Wow, your family and friends are very lucky.
Dang, you are BIZZ-AYE. Those look like awesome gifts, too!
The scarf is lovely!
You are a knitting machine and an inspiration for me, considering the amount of Christmas knitting that I still need to finish. ;)
Oooo...look at that nice Forbes scarf. It's the perfect man scarf. It seems like Christmas knitting always inches along! I want to make both my grandmothers some anklets and I'm not sure I will even finish them in time. We'll see.
I made a Robot before 9also for a friend! and one for me) and the seaming *is* a bit of a pain, but hang in there it's worth it, and it goes by pretty fast once you start.
